Changing your Google password

Changing your Google password is done in your Internet browser of choice.  Here we are using Google Chrome (the recommended browser to use with Google apps).

Open Google email ( and make sure you are logged in to Google.
At the top right of browser window, you will see your email address with a small drop down arrow next to it.

Click on your email address then click on “Account”.

On the Personal info page, select “Security” from the list across the top of the page.

On the Security page, click on “Change Password”.

Enter your old password in the “Old Password” field and then enter your new password in both the “New Password” and “Confirm New Password” fields.

Remember that your password must be unique (never used before) and at least 8 characters long.

If the Google system accepts your new password you will be returned to the Security page.  If an error message is displayed, follow the suggestions and make sure your password meets the requirements.
